This NVQ is for groundworkers and kerb layers who install kerbs, channels and edgings on roads, footpaths and car parks. It suits operatives already working with highway or groundworks contractors who want a formal qualification for their experience.
Course Structure, Duration & Assessment
The qualification is made up of mandatory units on health, safety and welfare, working relationships and productive working practices, plus optional units built around laying kerbs and channels. Your assessor helps you choose the units that match the work you actually do on site.
There are no written exams. Your assessor reviews photos, method statements and witness testimonies from your supervisor, and may visit site or hold a professional discussion with you. How long it takes depends on your experience and how quickly you can gather evidence.
