Eligibility of Course
To enroll in the CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper Course, candidates must meet certain requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Possess basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and safety guidelines.
Hold a valid CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) test certificate taken within the last two years.
Prior site experience is beneficial but not mandatory, as the course is designed to accommodate both beginners and experienced operators.
Course Details
Duration: Typically 3–5 days, depending on the candidate’s prior experience.
Content:
Pre‑use inspection and routine maintenance checks.
Safe operation of forward tipping dumpers in various site conditions.
Loading, transporting, and tipping procedures.
Awareness of stability, ground conditions, and safety regulations.
Assessment: Candidates must pass a CPCS theory test and a practical assessment.
Certification: Successful participants receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card for the A09 category. This card can later be upgraded to the Blue Competent Operator Card by completing an NVQ in plant operations.
