- How to Get There
From the roundabout at the top of Leith Walk, head down Leith Walk and take the first left, opposite the Playhouse Theatre, into Union Street. Cairncross House is on the right near the bottom of the hill, and the centre is on the second floor. Roadworks around Leith Street can cause delays, so allow extra time. There is full disabled access, with a ramp to the right of the main door; use the buzzer at the main entrance.

Admission Policy & ID Requirements
You won’t be able to sit your test without valid, original ID that matches the name on your booking. Photocopies and photos of documents on your phone are not accepted.
Primary ID
Bring one form of ID from the list below.
- A valid passport (any nationality)
- UK Driving Licence
- eVisa
- Waiver Form (Download Form)
If candidates do not have the required form of Primary ID, they may present two forms of Secondary ID instead.
Secondary ID — List A
Must be valid and include the candidate’s name and a recognisable photograph.
- Non-UK/Non-EU Photocard Driving Licence
- Passport without signature
- European National Identity Card UK
- Citizen Card or other proof of age card showing the PASS hologram
- Young Scot Card showing the PASS hologram
- CSCS card or CSCS Partner card showing the CSCS Logo (Hologram)
- UK Armed Forces ID card
- UK Armed Forces Veteran ID Card
- UK Home Office Travel Document
Secondary ID — List B
Must be valid and include the candidate’s name and signature.

- Paper Driving Licence (issued before 31 March 2000)
On the day: arrive at least 15 minutes early, bring your original ID, and follow the centre's rules for phones and bags.
