About the 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness Course
The Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course is a one-day CITB course that helps you prevent and respond to hazards and emergencies at work. It covers areas such as workplace ergonomics, fire safety, environmental and chemical safety, using equipment and PPE properly, and first aid.
You can take it online or at a training centre near you, and we can book either. There is an exam at the end, and you receive your certificate once you pass. Many people know it as the CSCS Green Card course.
The course helps you and your employer meet health and safety standards in construction. It lowers the risk of accidents and injuries, helps you work more productively, and improves your job prospects.
Eligibility
- You should be comfortable reading and writing in English.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- For the online course and assessment, you need a laptop or desktop with a working camera.
- You need valid ID, such as a UK driving licence or a passport.
Required Documents
- Identity proof: a valid, in-date passport from any country or a UK driving licence.
- No ID? You can submit a CITB Identification Waiver form with your name, address, date of birth, a passport-sized photo, and a signature from someone who can confirm who you are, such as an employer, teacher or doctor. This option is not available for online exams, because your identity is checked by webcam.
- Address: in some cases you will also need to give your address.
