About CSCS Gold Supervisor Card
The CSCS Gold Supervisor Card is part of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and is designed for professionals who supervise construction work on UK sites. It confirms that you have the qualifications, knowledge, and practical experience required to lead teams, maintain health and safety standards, and oversee day-to-day site operations.
The card is intended for site supervisors, forepersons, gangers, and team leaders who have achieved an NVQ Level 3/SVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in a relevant supervisory qualification. Valid for 5 years, it is recognised by contractors and employers across the UK as proof of supervisory competence.

Who is Eligible for Gold Supervisors Card?
You may be eligible for a CSCS Gold Supervisor Card if you:

- Hold an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in a recognised supervisory discipline, such as Occupational Work Supervision or Construction Site Supervision.
- Have passed the CITB Supervisors Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test within the previous two years.
- Can provide evidence of both your qualification and test pass.
The Gold Supervisor Card is intended for experienced supervisors and is not suitable for entry-level construction workers.
How to Apply for Gold Supervisors Card
Applying for a CSCS Gold Supervisor Card is straightforward:
- Complete an approved NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in a supervisory discipline.
- Pass the CITB Supervisors Health, Safety and Environment Test.
- Gather the required documents, including your qualification certificate, CITB test pass, and proof of identity.
- Submit your application through CSCS and pay the applicable fee.
- Once approved, your card is normally issued within 2–3 weeks.
Card Validity and Renewal
The CSCS Gold Supervisor Card remains valid for five years.
To renew your card, you must:
- Hold a valid CITB Supervisors HS&E Test pass.
- Submit your renewal application before or shortly after the card expires.
Your supervisory NVQ does not need to be completed again for renewal if it has already been achieved.
Although not a mandatory requirement for obtaining the card, many employers also value candidates who hold an SSSTS certificate.
Replacing a Lost or Damaged Card
If your Gold Supervisor Card is lost, stolen, or damaged, you can apply for a replacement.
Provided your qualifications remain valid and your records are held by CSCS, you can request a replacement without retaking your NVQ. If your HS&E test has expired, you may need to meet the current renewal requirements.
