How to Apply for a Red TSM Card?
Applying for the Red TSM Card is a straightforward process.
- Register for an NVQ or SVQ: Enrol on an NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or above that is relevant to your current role. Keep your official registration confirmation.
- Pass the CITB HS&E Test: Take and pass the appropriate CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Supervisors or Managers. The test must have been passed within the previous two years.

Renewal or Replacement of Red TSM Card
Renewal
The Red TSM Card cannot be renewed because it is designed solely as a temporary card for individuals completing a recognised qualification. Before the card expires, you should complete your NVQ or SVQ and upgrade to the appropriate CSCS card, such as:
- Blue Skilled Worker Card
- Gold Supervisor Card
- Black Manager Card
The correct upgrade depends on your qualification and job role.
Replacement
If your Red TSM Card is lost, stolen, damaged, or no longer readable, you can request a replacement card. Provided your original card and CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test remain valid, you will not normally be required to retake the test before obtaining a replacement.
